Consultations
What happens during a consultation?
During your private consultation, we'll take the time to understand your unique needs, discuss your hair loss journey, and walk you through your options. We'll also review pricing, insurance reimbursement possibilities, and any estimated out-of-pocket costs — so you can make a fully informed decision before moving forward.
How do I schedule a consultation?
You can submit a consultation request online, or call/text us at 855-EGO-HAIR. We'll contact you within 1–2 business days to confirm your appointment.
Do you offer virtual consultations?
Yes! We offer both virtual and in-person consultations. You can indicate your preference when you submit your consultation request.
Payment
How do I pay for my consultation?
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, and HSA/FSA cards. Payment is due at the time of your consultation.
Do you accept payment plans?
Payment plan options may be available. Please ask about financing during your consultation — we want to make sure that cost is never a barrier to getting the care and confidence you deserve.
Can I use my HSA or FSA card?
Yes, we accept HSA and FSA cards for eligible expenses. Cranial prostheses (medical wigs) are generally considered a qualified medical expense when prescribed by a physician. We recommend confirming eligibility with your HSA/FSA administrator.
Insurance
Will my insurance pay AlterEGO Hair Solutions directly?
No. AlterEGO Hair Solutions is an out-of-network provider, which means we do not bill insurance companies directly. You pay us at the time of service, and we provide you with the documentation needed to submit a reimbursement claim to your insurance plan.
What documentation do you provide for insurance reimbursement?
We assist clients with the documentation commonly requested by insurance plans, which may include itemized receipts, product descriptions with HCPCS codes, and superbills. A letter of medical necessity from your physician is also typically required — we can help you understand what to ask your doctor for.
What if my insurance doesn't cover the full amount?
Coverage varies by plan. If your insurance only partially covers the cost — or doesn't cover it at all — you would be responsible for the remaining balance. During your consultation, we'll walk you through estimated costs so there are no surprises. Payment plan options may also be available.
How do I find out if my insurance covers a cranial prosthesis?
We recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card and asking specifically about your cranial prosthesis (medical wig) benefits. We're happy to help you prepare the right questions to ask before your consultation.
